Love Comes Softly - Marty - Snow Queen

I was bored today, so I decided to recreate some of the main female characters from Hallmark Channel's "Love Comes Softly" series. This series of six movies is based on the book series of the same name by Janette Oke. The series starts with Marty (played by Katherine Heigl), a young newly married woman from the Eastern U.S. who sets off out West with her new husband, Aaron, to find their own land and settle down. However, shortly after arriving at their new land, Aaron is killed in a riding accident while out searching for their other horse. Marty is despondent and mourns for days. After her husband's funeral, a widower named Clark Davis (played by Dale Midkiff) approaches her and offers a proposal. If she agrees to marry him and act as mother to his young daughter Missy, he will provide her with a home for the winter and then help her get home on a wagon train that leaves in the spring. Marty reluctantly agrees. But Missy is not happy at the prospect of a new mother and tries do everything she can to get Marty to leave. But eventually, the two start to warm up to each other, so much so that by the time spring comes and the wagon train is ready to leave, Marty is reluctant to return home. She starts out back east, but Clark catches up with the wagon train and begs her to stay with him, because he loves her. She agrees to stay because she now loves him in return. When they return to their farm, she reunites with Missy, who calls her Mama for the first time. They had gone through many hardships but have finally formed a family.
